Senior Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management

IO’s Finance, Technology, and Lending Enterprise Team ensures that IO is a financially efficient and effectively managed organization and that the agency’s finances are monitored, reported, and managed appropriately. The team also manages the infrastructure lending program, which has supported more than $18 billion in local infrastructure development, and IO’s Information Technology and Business Services, providing tools and systems to ensure secure, effective, and efficient operations.

Internally titled Senior Vice President, Enterprise Risk, in this role you will lead, grow, and evolve the enterprise risk management function at Infrastructure Ontario (IO), and help accomplish IO’s objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to risk management, governance and control processes.  This includes developing the standards (framework, methodologies, policies, guidelines and/or procedures) for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for IO, and acting as a strategic risk advisor to executive and senior management, the Board, and business partners on risk-related matters.

What you will do:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and integration of the ERM function, framework and program across IO, in line with IO’s ERM roadmap and the province’s ERM directive
  • Ensure processes for risk identification, measurement, assessment, response, escalation and monitoring are executed consistently in accordance with IO's current ERM policy and provincial directive
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk appetite and tolerance statements, and the integration of business line and corporate risk reporting across 
  • Develop a  strategy to leverage technology in order to enable risk identification, assessment, aggregation and reporting.
  • Promote awareness and an understanding of risk management across the organization
  • Coaching and mentoring within the group and externally

Who we're looking for:

  • Significant experience within an Enterprise Risk function (including at least 5 years experience leading a risk function),  including the development of risk registers, risk tolerance and risk appetite statements
  • A risk champion who can bring thought leadership to the organization
  • Experience preparing and presenting insightful materials for executive management and/or Board level committees
  • Professional designations such as CPA, CRMA, CRM, or CIA would be considered an Asset
