Director, Project Delivery - Subways

IO’s Project Delivery Enterprise Team delivers some of the province’s largest and most important public infrastructure projects, including new hospitals, highways, transit systems, and courthouses. What You Will Do

• Provide strategic advice and commercial guidance and expertise to project staff through all stages of a project.
• Guide, lead, manage, and support project management professionals in managing project issues delivered  under the Public-Private Partnership (P3) model, within the approved schedule, budget and quality parameters.
• Develop, recommend and implement strategies, frameworks and templates to address commercial risk issues and lead the commercial delivery of one of the announced subway projects.

What We're Looking For

• 10 years of hands-on experience managing major complex infrastructure projects ideally in the transit sector.
• Experience or familiarity with Alternative Financing and Procurement, P3 or Design Build contracts. 
• Experience in effectively managing diverse teams of project consultants and specialists, preferably as a client representative.
• Ability to find positive solutions to complex multiple-stakeholder issues, including dealing with senior executives, and navigating high-profile, highly sensitive projects.
• You must possess a Post-secondary college or university education in Engineering, Commerce or related discipline (e.g. Finance, Construction Project Management, etc.).
• Knowledge and experience in contract structuring and administration, risk analysis, project schedules, budgets, technical requirements, change orders and financial matters pertaining to project implementation.
• Ability to lead, coach, mentor and develop a multi-disciplined team.

We seek an individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence people through consultation, negotiation and consensus building.  Excellent analytical skills are required with an ability to integrate program-wide issues and develop solutions.
