Director, Finance (Fixed-Term 15 Months)


IO’s Finance, Technology, and Lending Enterprise Team ensures that IO is a financially efficient and effectively managed organization and that the agency’s finances are monitored, reported, and managed appropriately. The team also manages the infrastructure lending program, which has supported more than $15 billion in local infrastructure development, and IO’s Information Technology and Business Services, providing tools and systems to ensure secure, effective, and efficient operations.

In this role you will manage a team, reporting into the Senior Vice President, Finance. You will provide periodic reporting for the Executive team, and play a significant role in the financial stewardship (including Governance, compliance, and controls) of the Finance function.

What you will do:
•Ensure that financial goals and objectives are effectively realized through the management and monitoring of financial resources.
•Manage all accounting functions, provide leadership and supervision to the finance team. 
•Direct and review all financial reporting (internal and external), to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results. 
•Provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting against budget to the Executive Team, in the form of quarterly financial statements and MD&A, including detailed analysis in supplementary financial packages. 
•Develop and maintain appropriate internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to comply with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and other government policies and guidelines and ensure the integrity of all financial information. 
•Oversee the Plan, Track, and Recover (PTR) tool is working effectively across the organization

What we are looking for:
•A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Managerial accounting roles
•An CPA designation is essential
•Prior experience working with senior executives for financial reporting, budgeting and project management..
•Excellent written communication and the ability to create executive/board level reports – presentations
•Experience in preparing company management reports, financial statements and MD&A
