Project Coordinator, Project Delivery - Civil

What You Will Do

  • Support the procurement and implementation of large, complex infrastructure projects, directly impacting the Province, delivered through Public-Private-Partnerships (P3).
  • Support the management of relationships with various groups of internal and external stakeholders to identify issues related to staging, procurement, government approvals, relationship management and other commercial issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation measures, specific to commercial issues.
  • You will have the opportunity to support the management of projects, from Pre-transaction, Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stage through construction, commissioning to the final transfer of responsibility to operations.
  • Provide support and liaise with the technical team and consultants, as required, throughout the planning, procurement, design, and construction phases of a project.
  • Other duties and special projects as required.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with P3 programs, alongside complex Design-Build-Finance-Maintain models strongly preferred, especially with LRT, Rail, roads, highways, or BRT.
  • University degree in Engineering or Commerce, or other relevant discipline combined with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing major complex ICI, civil, or transit projects in an owner representative, high-level construction supervisory or commercial role. 
  • Strong business acumen, solid experience dealing with project budget, schedule, and technical requirements as well as financial and legal matters, contract management, with an emphasis on commercial considerations pertaining to project planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of contract structuring and legal requirements of contracts.

 

To succeed in this role, you must have sound stakeholder management skills and experience finding positive solutions to complex issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists. Advanced presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills are also required. Experience negotiating claims, scope changes and other compliance and contractual items on major civil projects is desirable.
