Senior Internal Auditor


Our Finance and Lending division is responsible for ensuring that IO is a financially efficient and effectively managed organization and that the agency’s finances are monitored, reported and managed appropriately. The team also manages IO’s infrastructure lending program, which has supported more than $15 billion in local infrastructure development.

The Senior Internal Auditor will plan, manage and execute audits and special reviews including the implementation and execution of the CEO/CFO Certification Program, using the Internal Audit Department's methodologies and standards designed to identify, quantify and mitigate risks across the organization. This role will also provide consulting advice to senior management on risks in all operations and risk mitigation techniques, implementation of internal controls, new initiatives, programs, systems, policies, processes and procedures, workflow efficiency and continuous improvement and special projects.

The successful incumbent will have a post-secondary degree with an advance certification (CIA, CISA, CFA, CA, CMA, CGA, MBA), or equivalent experience, sound knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, practices and procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
You will also have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an internal auditor role, experience in applying risk-based methodologies, critical thinking, and independent judgment to conduct operational, compliance and value-for-money audits and provide consulting and/or advisory services.

To be successful in this role, you will  have  strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities, advanced analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail, maturity and sound business judgment to identify, asses, and analyze inter-related problems, have a client-focused attitude, strong interpersonal and consulting skills, excellent facilitation and influencing skills and a proven ability to present complex concepts and negotiate solutions with management and business units, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a team member
