TORONTO – The Request for Proposals stage has closed for teams to submit their bids to design, build and finance the Ontario Line South project and to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Ontario Line Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) project.

Following a fair, open and transparent Request for Qualifications process, teams were shortlisted and invited to respond to a Request for Proposals in December 2020: Community Transit Link, ON-Linx and Ontario Transit Group (for South) and Connect 6ix, ONConnects and ONLineLinx (for RSSOM). All six teams have submitted their proposals by the RFP deadline.

Submissions will be evaluated and the successful proponents for both projects are expected to be announced in fall 2022. A fairness monitor is overseeing the entire procurement process.

The Ontario Line is being delivered via various contracts, procured through public-private partnership (P3) and traditional procurement models. Procurements for RSSOM and South civil, stations and tunnel packages are well underway. Works for North civil, stations and tunnel as well as enabling works for bridge, track and other preparatory activities are forthcoming. Procurements are being staged in coordination with other significant transit projects for their successful delivery.
