Infrastructure Ontario (IO) continues to support municipalities and other eligible public sector partners in their work to improve the quality of life in their communities by providing affordable, long-term financing for infrastructure development and renewal.
IO has entered into new commitments to provide financing through its Loan Program to three eligible organizations.
The eligible organizations are:
- Township of Frontenac Islands, for a road grader – $327,546 loan
- Town of New Tecumseth, for a water pipeline – $9.5 million loan
- City of Thunder Bay, for multiple projects, including municipal fleet replacement, fuel tank replacement, fire rescue vehicles, storm sewers, public park renewals, rehabilitation of a bridge, pavement and sidewalk, traffic and street lighting, leachate treatment capabilities at its landfill site, water main replacement, sewer rehabilitation, and a water pollution control plant upgrade – $18,016,900 loan
With more than 440 public-sector clients, the Loan Program has helped finance various types of infrastructure projects such as the construction of roads, bridges, arena complexes and long-term care homes, and the acquisition and installation of capital assets like fire trucks and energy-efficient lighting.
