Project Coordinator, Project Delivery - Civil

Our Major Projects division is responsible for delivering some of the province’s largest and most important public infrastructure projects. Our made-in-Ontario approach to modern project delivery has resulted in over 100 major projects brought to market and made Ontario a global leader in infrastructure development. Projects have included new hospitals, highways, transit systems, and courthouses. We have a track record of delivering new projects on time and on budget while meeting high standards for design, quality, and health and safety.

What You Will Do

  • Support the procurement and implementation of the Province's four priority subway projects, including delivery of projects through Public-Private-Partnerships (P3).
  • Support the management of relationships with various groups of internal and external stakeholders to identify issues related to staging, procurement, government approvals, relationship management and other commercial issue.
  • Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation measures, specific to commercial issues
  • You will have the opportunity to support the management of projects, from Pre-transaction, Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stage through construction, commissioning to the final transfer of responsibility to operations.
  • Support the Commercial Director and Transaction Lead on the overall commercial management of a major Project (or group of Projects) which includes providing commercial advice on contracts and developing commercial strategies for successful project execution.
  • Provide commercial support and liaise with the technical team and consultants, as required, throughout the planning, procurement, design, and construction phases of a project.
  • Other duties and special projects as required.


What We're Looking For

  • Experience with P3 programs, with Design-Build-Finance-Maintain models strongly preferred, especially with LRT, Rail, roads, highways, or BRT.
  • University degree in Engineering or Commerce, or other relevant discipline combined with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing major complex ICI, civil, or transit projects in an owner representative, high-level construction supervisory or commercial role. Two to three years of commercial experience on major infrastructure projects is desirable.
  • Strong business acumen, solid experience dealing with project budget, schedule, and technical requirements as well as financial and legal matters, contract management, with an emphasis on commercial considerations pertaining to project planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of contract structuring and legal requirements of contracts.
