Total Rewards Specialist


Our Corporate Services division consists of Human Resources, Information Technology, and Business Services and is responsible for ensuring that the agency is able to attract and retain a talented and highly-engaged workforce within an environment that encourages and enables staff to deliver IO’s mandate through programs, processes, and tools that align with the needs of the organization.

We are looking for a Total Rewards Specialist to assist in managing the relationship between our employees, various service providers. You will play a key role in meeting with employees to discuss IO policies as they relate to benefits, pension and assist employees who are going on various leaves. You will also, provide assistance with the activities related to IO's benefits renewal, pension committee meetings and assist with compensation related systems, reports and activities.

 

What You Will Do

  • Benefits and Pension: Maintain employee eligibility and liaise with the benefits and pension providers to resolve issues, and provide advice, guidance and counselling to employees on the interpretation of their entitlements
  • Conduct analysis on the benefits and participate in the renegotiation of the annual renewal
  • Pension Management Committee (PMC) reports to the Governance and Compensation Committee (a subset of IO's Board of Directors). This role is the PMC secretary and will liaise with the Pension Consultant and Pension provider.
  • Attendance: Monitor and maintain the attendance database used by the Total Rewards team to ensure accurate attendance reported for payroll purposes including new annual entitlements and carryover credits and unpaid leave
  • Projects:  participate in Total Rewards projects and Working groups to develop/update processes, systems and standards to continuously improve service delivery.

Who We're Looking For

  • Recent experience using Canada Life's GroupNet portal and understand the reporting requirements on the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario's pension portal
  • Thorough and demonstrable understanding and experience of Benefits and Pension administration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Audit standards and reporting requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Total Rewards Role with a focus on Benefits and Pension
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management, CEBS designation or equivalent experience
  • Ceridian Dayforce HCM experience is a requirement.
  • You are highly organized with strong problem solving/analytical abilities and strong attention to detail to deliver on competing priorities. You exercise diplomacy and tact in your communications and maintain confidentially of HR matters.
  • You are comfortable speaking to employees at all levels of the organization.  Strong written communication skills is required to respond to inquiries, prepare and present information reports in a succinct and easy to understand manner.
