Procurement Advisor (Fixed Term 15 Months)


Our Procurement and Program Management division provides professional support and commercial advice to all parts of the organization through the services it provides, including procurement, data analytics, budgeting, and performance management. The Procurement office is a global leader among public sector entities in the procurement of large capital infrastructure projects. The Program Management office ensures consistency and synergy among the capital project cost estimation, budgeting and financial forecasting, quality, process control, continuous improvement, compliance and governance, reporting and analytics functions across the enterprise.

The Procurement team leads the process of acquiring goods and services and works for Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and its business lines in a way that enhances efficiencies and value to the organization.

The Procurement Advisor role is an exciting opportunity within the Procurement Operations group, to contribute to a cross functional team and work with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

What You Will Do
•Lead the maintenance and ongoing improvement of IO's vendor performance program and the provision of advice for creation, development, design and implementation of vendor management systems for an expanded set of contract types within IO and among IO's clients
•Act as a curator and custodian for a knowledge hub of procurement processes, templates, guidelines, resources and annotated documentation - leading in the ongoing gathering, updating, development and delivery and of procurement training for both IO procurement staff and IO clients
•Lead the gathering of procurement data, reporting of procurement information and auditing of and/or quality control associated with IO executed procurements within IO's mandate for the purposes of procurement analytics, financial analytics, agency governance requirements and auditing requirements
•Provide ongoing advice within the procurement department and to IO business units, as directed, on procurement process optimization, procurement data collection methods, and the use of procurement tools and systems

Who We're Looking For
 A minimum of five (5) years of experience:
•            Administering a vendor performance management program, including developing performance or contract management systems
•            Developing program materials and training materials, as well as delivering training
•            Undergraduate or college level education in information systems, business administration, public administration, business process optimization or equivalent.
•            Demonstrated knowledge of procurement and contract administration requirements.
•            Knowledge of business analytics and process optimization is required.
