Procurement Specialist


 

Our Procurement and Program Management division provides professional support and commercial advice to all parts of the organization through the services it provides, including procurement, data analytics, budgeting, and performance management. The Procurement office is a global leader among public sector entities in the procurement of large capital infrastructure projects. The Program Management office ensures consistency and synergy among the capital project cost estimation, budgeting and financial forecasting, quality, process control, continuous improvement, compliance and governance, reporting and analytics functions across the enterprise.

The Procurement team leads the process of acquiring goods and services and works for Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and its business lines in a way that enhances efficiencies and value to the organization.

The Procurement Specialist role is an exciting opportunity to utilize a combination of Public procurement, strategy, analytics, commercial acumen and technical knowledge as we continue to increase the strategic focus of the procurement team as a value adding partner.

What You Will Do

•            Execute the procurement process for IO and act as an advisor to IO business units and external government clients by providing guidance and advice on procurement approaches and processes. 

•            Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of IO's procurement framework, standards and processes. 

•            Execution of procurements for all IO business lines, including P3 procurements.

Who We're Looking For

To succeed in this role you will have excellent organization skills with superior attention to detail to successfully manage multiple projects at different phases to meet strict deadlines. You will also have the ability to understand business issues quickly, exercise good judgment in providing timely and practical procurement advice, work effectively at all levels of the organization, and clearly communicate complex procurement issues in a way that can be understood by business units and other stakeholders.

•            3-5 years' experience as a procurement professional for either a public procuring authority or a private sector company (including providing consulting or advisory services) with emphasis in large capital/project procurements, or equivalent relevant professional experience as a project manager, professional engineer, architect or a legal professional with contract law experience.

•            Post-Secondary Degree in Business Administration, or Commerce, with an emphasis on Strategic Sourcing / Procurement, or relevant discipline

•            Experience in RFx development and procurement processes, which may include detailed understanding of development of scope documentation.
