Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment

Lindsay
Project Type:
Real Estate (Direct Delivery, Stipulated Sum)
Infrastructure Type:
Justice
Construction Cost:
$9 million
Client:
Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services

About the Project

The new 23,000 square foot detachment facility is located at 3028 Highway 35 in the City of Kawartha Lakes.  It was built on a large government-owned property that already accommodated a 69,000 square foot Ontario Government Building, which includes the local courthouse.  There was excess land, which allowed for Infrastructure Ontario to proceed with the project on the already existing site and further keep in-line with our responsibility for maximizing value for taxpayers.  To ensure that the OPP have dedicated access and to allow two important facilities to co-exist on the same site the construction of a left-hand turn lane off Highway 35 was also a part of the final project.
