About the Project:

On behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), Infrastructure Ontario is undertaking the redevelopment of the Fire Management Headquarters/Provincial Logistics Centre (FMC/PLC) on the existing 20 acre MNRF site located at 1580 Arthur Street West, Thunder Bay.

The project involves renovations and additions to the main FMH/PLC building, a new aviation building, various new storage buildings and significant site development on the existing government owned land. The project is to be staged in order to meet the operational requirements of the FMH/PLC and will require significant coordination and communication on site.

Features

  • Redevelopment of MNRF site to meet the existing and growing operational requirements of Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.
  • The main administration and warehouse building are to be built to obtain LEED silver certification.
  • The main administration and warehouse building's design is based on streamlining the effectiveness and efficiency of MNRF through detailed planning of  access, loading , circulation, storage and vehicle traffic around and within the complex.
